KOF Games for parents and teachers
KOF Games is a small set of free games that run in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install. Right now there are two:
- Duck Climb: hop a duck up lily pads in a daily climb, short levels or a random climb. Beginner Mode makes it gentler for younger players.
- Fluffy Friends Home: look after fluffy animals and make them happy.
No ads, no accounts, nothing to buy
There are no ads and no sign-ups. Nothing in the games can be bought with money. The breadcrumbs kids spend in the duck shop are earned by playing. There's also a short page for grown-ups.
No typed names
Kids never type a name that other people can see. Names on the daily board come from a fixed pick list of friendly animal names. Anything else is swapped for one of those names.
What is saved, and where
- Progress, stickers and settings are saved in the browser on that device. Clearing the site's data in the browser resets them.
- The daily board keeps the picked animal name, the climb time and the duck's look (for a custom duck, its four paint colors), plus a random id made on the device so one device has one row. That id is never shown. Each day's board deletes itself after 7 days.
- Daily counters keep totals only, like how many climbs started. They don't store IP addresses or device ids.
- To stop spam, the daily board and the climb rating keep a short-lived count tied to the connection's IP address, which deletes itself within a few hours.
- Google Analytics counts page visits and which games get played, with Google signals and ad personalization turned off.
